SSCUS Non-Profit Network Take Action!, the non-profit network of Sport & Social Clubs of the U.S., provides local and national non-profit organizations with volunteer support by encouraging participants to become involved in their communities. Each city's quarterly newsletter dedicates a section to Take Action! which features volunteer opportunities, fundraisers and upcoming charitable events. In addition, SSCUS and Take Action! continually donate money and volunteers to local area youth groups, schools, city parks and a variety of other organizations across the country. These donations provide funding for a variety of projects such as the renovation and upkeep of parks and buildings, the support of youth sports and educational programs and other efforts geared toward improving the quality of life within our communities. Since its inception, Take Action! has donated over $300,000 and more than 15,000 volunteers have been placed in over 1,800 non-profit organizations nationwide. Programs Annual Winter Food and Clothing Drive Since the 1996 winter season, cities team up with local charity organizations to help collect food and warm clothing for the area's needy at select leagues and After Work Parties. Since its inception, Take Action's! Food and Clothing Drive collectively gathered over 1,500 pounds of canned food and over 1,000 boxes of warm clothing.
